Davit Gareja

On James' advice, we took a day trip to the border monastery of Davit Gareja. Davit Gareja is a very remote settlement literally built into the ridge that divides Georgia and Azerbaijan. Once again, it was a hot day under the sun, but the pictures prove it was worth it.

The modern monastery:

The monks channel rainwater from the rock face into a cistern (not pictured). There were some really fat frogs in the cistern (also not pictured).
